What do you make for a group of giggling pre-teens for the sleepover breakfast? Baked French toast is a great option, but what if you forgot to start it the night before? Here's a "morning of" recipe that you can start & finish while the girls are still rubbing the sleep of out their eyes.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Grease 9x13 pan.
Pour egg mixture over the torn bread. If necessary, squish the bread down a bit to make sure that it is covered with the liquid (otherwise, it will be dry and crusty).
Top with 1/4 cup syrup if desired.
Bake for 25-30 minutes.

- Pour 1/2 cup of syrup (I used Raspberry Syrup this morning) in the bottom of the pan.
- Tear about 10 pieces of bread (less if they are thick slices) and place on top of the syrup.
- 6 eggs
- 1 1/2 cups milk (or so)
- 2 tsp Poudre Douce
- 1 tsp vanilla
